Soil Borings
As a matter of law, soil borings are considered to be the most reliable indications of subsurface conditions. Cherry Hill Constr.. C1. 1969); Foster Constr. C.A. & Williams Bros. Co. v. United States, 435 F.2d 873 (Ct. C1. 1370). In this regard, a contractor is entitled to rely on the soil borings and is not required to undertake an independent investigation to verify the same.
